:{Little Parties}: cohort and friend of :{Unplanned Afternoons}: Gid Pigeonhold is throwing a party on Saturday - I’m going and so should you.

Gid says:
“Time for a bit of a pigeonhold knees-up. Time to get all the friends and family together. Time to celebrate Claire’s summer birthday. Time to get all freaky in some crazy Hackney basement.

And thus you are cordially invited to join us as we all hit the party jackpot and become “WINNERS” – a small but perfectly formed social intercourse opportunity and dancefloor experience to celebrate one of Claire’s birthdays. Tall but perfectly formed DJs in the form of Michael Morph, Will b & Gid will be choosing music based on her impeccable tastes, so expect an astonishingly fine selection of legendary funk, well worn soul, block-party hip hop, reggae and rock’n’roll. AND we’ve found the perfect venue for an event such as this in the form of the basement of a Caribbean restaurant in Hackney. Very relaxed, very intimate, very well equipped with a range of rums – and that’s just the DJ booth.

Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think may benefit from the above range of entertainments, especially if they’re one of life’s winners, old friends of the pigeon Massive, people who are Local, and people with similar mental problems to us. All are welcome, but if they’re new to our particular brand of fun and games, and not arriving with you, it would be handy if they mentioned your name on the door as we’ll be aiming to screen out random Dalston walk-ups.

See you on the dancefloor.
x”

Former Headspin resident, Lebrosk [James Glenton], has a musical style spanning chilled Ibiza beats, through to dirty, filthy breaks. Recently, he’s been playing funky breaks sets in and around London, but we know him as part of the Little Parties team, playing at the Little Ill and Little Thrill warehouse shindigs. Over the last couple of years, Lebrosk has also started producing bootlegs and mash-ups, which you can listen to on his Myspace page.

On 2 May 2008 at 16.00 local time, Cyclone Nargis ripped across the coast of Myanmar (also known as Burma), bringing misery and devastation to tens of thousands of people. Winds of over 190km/hr, heavy rain and floodwater have caused enormous damage, ripping the roofs from people’s homes, uprooting trees and disrupting power and communication lines. Debris is littered across roads making it hugely difficult to reach people in the worst-affected areas. There are also concerns about access to supplies of drinking water, food and fuel.

It’s very sexuelle, yes?” A couple waltzing to New Order; a lot of love for New Zealand’s fourth most popular digi-folk paradists, FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS; a bald bloke, very excited about NEW FAST AUTOMATIC DAFFODILS: big, who bought it in Manchester on 12″ in 1990; my friend, Hardcore Steff, coming down with a friend after a wine tasting; Baby Ben on a hot date; and my sister making an unheard of second appearance in as many weeks, with Pete, Ed and Dan.

The Firegathering is a little gem of a festival, nestled in the Sussex countryside. Bringing together top quality acts and a beautiful atmosphere for those lucky enough to attend. Experience that unique element you just won’t find at the larger festivals. The Firegathering Festival is a 3-day not-for-profit event during the 3rd weekend of May. Ideally situated on some beautiful farmland half-way between London and Brighton, the festival is a celebration of performing arts in a lovely outdoor setting.

The entertainment throughout the weekend spans live music , DJs, cabaret and we also have educational workshops and a healing space. The ethos for the event is participation, collaboration and to provide a stage for some really fantastic upcoming artists. We aim to involve people in a gathering of like-minded souls with a fun and friendly atmosphere. We think we’ve created something really special, offering an experience you just can’t get at the larger commercial festivals.
