Possibly the only DJ in the world to have been named after the state he sometimes gets himself into, Mark Luvdup has been entertaining clubbers the world over for nearly twenty years. With his unbridled sense of humour, notorious clubbing antics and brilliant selection of eclectic and funky music, Mark is one of the most instantly recognisable characters in worldwide clubbing.
Mark has played in every major club in the land as well as throughout Europe and beyond. Canada, Australia, the USA, Russia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong and South Africa are all visited regularly - as well as Ibiza’s massive Sundance parties (made infamous by the ‘Ibiza Uncovered’ series), Cyprus, Greece, Bulgaria, Latvia and the Netherlands. The atmosphere that he creates when playing has seen some strange encounters on the dancefloor. He’s had marriage proposals, the odd divorce and has even caused one fair maiden to slip into early labour. Such is his inimitable style!
It’s not just the DJing that has established his name so strongly, as Mark has caused quite a stir with his production and remix career. He has worked on over 40 remixes for such well-known acts as Womack and Womack, M. People and The Charlatans. Other notable remixes were for Sam Ellis, Rollo Goes Camping and Soft House Company. His own material has received such critical accolades as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune on Radio 1, and Mixmag Update magazine’s single of the week. As well as all this, the mixing duties on several dance compilations have won him a couple of gold disks to hang up in the bathroom and an appearance on Radio 1’s Essential Mix show was awarded a very high 8.5 out of 10 rating.

What have you got planned when the school bell rings on Friday? Microwave chicken tikka for one, endless repeats of Friends on E4 and a cheap bottle of pinot grigio? I don’t think so. I’ve got a far better idea: collar a couple of chums, launch yourself in the general direction of Old Street, sashay gently down City Road to The Eagle, get on the good foot and do the bad thing. Please feel free to drop in and loudly exclaim at the bar, “blimey, Charlie, bless my ears if this isn’t the phattest dope ever laid down on wax”.
